MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Nathan Oystrick hassigned an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the Chicago Wolves of the AmericanHockey League (AHL).  At this time of year, AHL teams cannot sign players toprofessional tryout contracts because it is past the clear day roster deadline(March 13).


Because the AHL is a development league, teams are stillallowed to sign draft picks and prospects under an ATO and the players areeligible to compete the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.


Oystrick was a two-time first-team selection to the CentralCollegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) All-Conference Team.  He was named theCCHAâ€Â™s Best Defensive Defenseman for the 2004-05 season. 


The Regina, Saskatchewan native tallied a career-high ninegoals, 20 assists for a career-high 29 points for the 2005-06 season.   Ã‚ Oystrick,the Atlanta Thrashers seventh-round pick (198th overall) in the 2002National Hockey League Entry Draft, collected 26 goals, 63 assists for 89points in 151 career games with the Wildcats.
