Great North Push/Pull Meet

A powerlifting meet is a great way to test absolute strength in the upper and lower body using foundational movements like the squat, bench and deadlift. The NMU Barbell Strength Club is hosting a “push/pull” meet. This involves working up to a one rep max on the bench press and the deadlift. Everybody who signs up for the meet will get a complimentary t- shirt. Each lifter will have 3 attempts to move as much weight as possible on the bench and deadlift, and the best legal lift for each movement will be added for a total. Medals will be given out to the best male and female bencher, the best male and female deadlifter, the best male and female total in proportion to body weight, and the best male and female total per weight class.
