Head Olympic Weightlifting Coach
At NMU Since 2018

Adam Latella, of Rockton, Ill., is the fourth head coach since the program was established in 2003. Latella came to NMU after serving three years as the head coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Warhawk weightlifting club, which won the State Championship the last three seasons. Its win in 2016 marked the first time in school history that the team earned a State Championship title. He also spent two years as an assistant with the team.

As an athlete, Latella was a three-time state Olympic weightlifting champion. He also earned NCAA All-American and NCAA Academic All-American status while competing on the Warhawk wrestling team.
