The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Kappa Beta Gamma
|Description||Kappa Beta Gamma is an international social sorority; the Lambda chapter was founded at NMU in 2002. The sisters of Kappa Beta Gamma are strong willed, intelligent, and socially minded young women. We strive to provide our community with beneficial philanthropic events including our local devotion to the Women's Center and our international philanthropy, Special Olympics, along with many more. We also participate in campus activities such as Make a Difference Day, Homecoming, WinterFest, Relay for Life, and Greek Week. Being a sisterhood, we work together to strive for excellence in all that we do and we support each other throughout our college days and onward. From 2010-2011, Lambda Chapter was presented with the Kappa Beta Gamma International Chapter of the Year award. Along with our own sisterhood, Kappa Beta Gamma actively participates in activities with the rest of the Greek organizations on campus including on-campus events and get-togethers.
