Current Organizations

Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Improv

Description Improv's mission is to provide a unique learning experience for the NMU community and beyond through interactive performances that will help raise awareness on topics that may have a negative impact on social health. Our members will learn how to play a variety of games that involve improvisation and how to successfully relay helpful information to the NMU community through those games. In addition, for those who just want to have fun and unlock their hidden acting potential, performances are voluntary so members who are not yet comfortable with an audience are not required to perform. Overall, Improv will be an unforgettable experience for our members as well as our audience. Email for more information.
