Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Flat World Society


Description The purpose of the Flat World Society is to play organized games and to allow student access to rather expensive designer games. Qualifications for membership include being a team player, having basic math skills, basic working knowledge of English, a good attention span (2-6 hours), and dependability. Some of these games run up to and past seven hours. Games in our collection include but are not limited to: Arkham Horror, Mansions of Madness, Descent, War of the Ring, Atmosfear. We will be having open gaming and you are welcome to bring your own. Please note we are not the table-top RPG group. Email ekilbour@nmu.edu for more information.
