The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Mu Beta Psi
|Description||Mu Beta Psi is a co-ed national musical fraternity that allows members to experience Brotherhood in a way that is different from most other Greek organizations. By not requiring Brothers to be music majors, play an instrument, or even be able to sing, Mu Beta Psi provides unique opportunities for students with an active interest in music to work together both musically and socially. We pride ourselves on being able to serve NMU's campus and the Marquette community while promoting music to everyone around us. Some of our recent service efforts include volunteering at the UP 200 Sled Dog Race, the U.P. Children's Museum, and NMU's annual Jazz Festival as well as instrument tutoring at Bothwell Middle School. Come to one of our semester rush events to see if Mu Beta Psi is the right fit for you.
