Current Organizations

Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Description The Rowing Club gives students the opportunity to participate in the sport of rowing and compete across the Midwest. The club was founded in 1999 and has grown over the years. The team travels to major regattas in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. The Rowing Club practices on Lake Superior at Founders Landing, and each spring the team travels to a different training camp over spring break. Dues are around $250, which includes gas for travelling, boat maintenance, wear and tear of cars and a jersey. We really hope you consider joining our team!
