The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Student Organization: Superior Edge
|Description||Superior Edge encompasses a wide range of experiential activities complementing classroom instruction to provide students with a distinct advantage by preparing them for lifelong learning, graduate school, careers, and life as engaged citizens. The program has four edges: Citizenship Edge - become an engaged, involved citizen; Diversity Edge - develop a better understanding and appreciation for diversity; Leadership Edge - become a competent, ethical, and effective leader; and "Real World" Edge - develop the ability to relate theory to practice.
