Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Skate and Snowboard Club

Student Organization: Jewish Student Union

Description The purpose of the Jewish Student Union is to reach out to Jewish students at NMU, organize events for them and the community, and promote Jewish life and culture on campus. Membership is open to Jewish students or non-Jewish students interested in learning about or experiencing Jewish culture. Planned activities include Sabbath dinners, holiday celebrations, and collaborations with other groups to create events. For more information, email
