The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Relevant
|Description||Relevant is an outreach to the campus of Northern Michigan University to show that Christianity is a lifestyle relevant to today's world. Opportunities at Relevant include weekly meal & FAQs Bible discussion, monthly social activities, community service projects and service oriented trips during school breaks. Our major features are Safe Rides Home and the "Go 'n' Serve Trips" to areas outside of the Upper Peninsula, taken during NMU's school breaks which are offered to any and all NMU students. All of our events and activities are open to all NMU students regardless of race, personal beliefs, color, gender or marital status (spouses and children are welcomed). If you're seeking a fun, family-type atmosphere, where acceptance and love are given freely, along with some occasional "mom and dad" advice, then Relevant is the organization for you.
