The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
|Description||InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is an inter-denominational, Christian, student-led ministry which for more than 70 years has been involved in establishing witnessing communities on U.S. college and university campuses, and is a member of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. We seek to be a blessing to the campus as we pray for the campus and seek to help people investigate Christian spiritual life. Our vision statement states that we seek to "grow in love for God, God's word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world." Besides our weekly meetings (Tuesdays 7:30 p.m. in the University Center), we have small groups that seek to form authentic community, study scripture, and seek to serve the campus. We have many social activities, chapter retreats, and retreats with InterVarsity chapters from other schools. Email email@example.com or visit nmuiv.org for more information or join our fb group: NMU InterVarsity.|
