The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Wesley House
|Description||Wesley House provides a homelike, supportive atmosphere for students at Northern Michigan University. Wesley House's program includes weekly Bible studies, worship experiences with devotions and singing, and a variety of spiritual growth and faith formation opportunities, both student and clergy led. It offers an opportunity for students to develop and practice leadership skills which will be important both to them and to the church in the years to come. As well as providing a home-like atmosphere for students, Wesley House also encourages and nurtures connections with local congregations and lay people. Several Wesley House students are active in music, children and family ministries in the local churches. Through Adopt-a-Student/Family programs, Wesley House has nurtured one-to-one relationships between students and local United Methodists. As lay people bring dinner and we sit down and eat together (Mondays at 5:30 p.m.) we create a new United Methodist family. Wesley House provides a visible United Methodist witness to the campus community. There are students who are living out a clear faith at Northern, and local lay people who are strengthening and supporting them through Wesley House Campus Ministry.
