||The National Student Speech, Language, Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is an organization that is active in campus activities and throughout the local community. NSSLHA's main mission is to provide the students in the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences major and minor with the opportunity to work with a variety of different cultures and ages. We have meetings every other weeks in the Speech And Hearing Clinic in West Science. NSSLHA is a group warm, outgoing and encouraging SLHS majors. NSSLHA hosts a Story Hour at the Peter White Public Library once a month where students read stories to the children and create craft projects together. NSSLHA students participate in Make a Difference Day, MS Walk, Adopt-a-Family, Shoe Boxes for the Homeless, Big Brother/Sister Lunch Buddies, Bingo at the Norlite Nursing Home, Winter Apparel Drive, a continuous Food Drive for the local Salvation Army and many more fun community service activities. NSSLHA assists the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Department with Majors Fair in the fall semester and the Health Fair in the winter semester. Students also assist the Speech and Hearing Clinic in various activities throughout the semesters. We enjoy meeting new people and reaching out to those in need.
