||The objectives and activities of the Psychiatric Service Dog Initiative club are designed by students to foster awareness for these animals and advocating local and state law. An example of an activity will be a Community Easter Egg Hunt next year with an Easter Bunny Pageant. Likewise, going to local nursing homes and schools with animals representing NMU. Our objective is a professional, intelligent, and comprehensive proposal for an NMU Student Therapy Dog Program/activity. We support the scientific method for lowering suicide rates and depression on campus while reaching goals of community and NMU mental health. Lastly, we seek successful integration and aligning with the Psychology Department's Autism efforts with an Autism Therapy Dog Training and educational program. It is a learning tool for undergraduates and a collaboration with Marquette. Students need interest only in helping, believing in science and their academic pursuits. No one is required to have an animal to join or particular academic pursuit. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
