NMU's Native American student-run newspaper

Due to limited staffing, the CNAS is no longer able to support the print copy of the Anishinaabe News. However, Anishinaabe Radio News can be found under News.


Anishinaabe News was dedicated to featuring Native American-related news, perspectives, and artwork. To view past issues of Anishinaabe News, visit the archives here.

The historical Nishnawbe News began in 1971 and grew to a circulation of more than 8,000. Decreases in funding halted publication in 1983. Anishinaabe News returned as an online publication by the staff of the Center for Native American Studies in 2002. In October 2005, it made its comeback as a student-run print publication.
