Boozhoo/Saludos/Greetings students, educators and community members!
Chi miigwech/Gracias/Thank you so much for your interest in the Reimagine STEM Fall Summit.
The Reimagine STEM Fall Summit will be held on the campus of Northern Michigan University (NMU) in Marquette as well as the Bay Cliff Health Camp. Costs of meals and lodging will be provided (the setting is a cabin-style retreat).
The Reimagine STEM Fall Summit is designed to bring together 20 students who participated in the 2018 Summer Academy and 20 educators who participated in the 2017 Educators Institute to: 1) provide Summer Academy students with additional college preparation, 2) provide Educators an opportunity to continue training in American Indian Inclusive content, and 3) launch a mentoring program by matching a student with an educator.
All costs associated with the Reimagine STEM Fall Summit (e.g. lodging, meals, and materials excluding laptops) are covered by a pilot project grant from the National Science Foundation’s Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science (NSF INCLUDES). EDUCATORS - PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOPS.
More information still to come.
