Shirley has been with the Multicultural Center since 1994, and was a first generation college student who now holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing.  She is a contingent professor with the Center for Native American Studies.  Originally from Ironwood, Michigan, Shirley relocated to the Marquette area in 1989.  She has six children, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.  In her spare time she likes to knit/crochet, read, cook, or watch How to Get Away with Murder.

Rena is originally from Gwinn, Michigan.  She holds her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lake Superior State University.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, movies, traveling, four wheeling, volunteering, and family time (Especially with her 2 young children, Karson and Lillian).

Originally from Harbor Springs, Michigan, Noah is the Multicultural Education and Resource Center's Graduate Assistant. Noah graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor's in Marketing. Noah will be starting a Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs. In his free time, Noah enjoys playing/listening to music. He also enjoys hiking, and winning in Mario Kart/Super Smash Brothers.

Anthony is a senior at NMU studying Special Education with a focus in emotional impairments from Midland, MI. He holds an Associate's degree from Delta Community College. In his free time, Anthony continues to immerse himself as much as he can into the teaching profession as a member of the Michigan Education Association. After graduation, Anthony hopes to be a behavioral interventionist for a school district in Florida.

Ravyn is a senior majoring in Social Work with a minor in the Human Behavior Cluster. She is originally from Springhill, Florida however she graduated from Alpena, Michigan. Ravyn enjoys going to the beach, volunteering and watching movies in her free time. She is an active member of the President's Committee on Gender & Sexuality, President's Committee on Diversity, Sexual Assault Task Force, Superior Edge, ALLIES and she is the president of the Student Social Work Organization. Ravyn is a first generation student who continues to expand her horizons. She loves to work at the MERC because she enjoys the environment of the office and the people who are constantly in it.

Stephany is a junior at NMU and is studying Applied Behavior Analysis with a minor in Human Service. She is a first-generation college student that is originally from Grayslake, Illinois. In her free time, Stephany likes to take pictures, go hiking, and play rugby for NMU’s club team.

Hannah is a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. She's also a first-generation student from Warren, Michigan. She hopes to be a Psychologist who works with At-Risk Youth and helps those in need. In her spare time, she enjoys singing in Northern Lights A Cappella, listening to music, and watching movies and adventuring with her friends.
