McNair Scholar Visitation Program

McNair programs and scholars are invited to attend NMU's first McNair Scholar Visitation Program to learn about graduate programs. Participants are invited to Marquette, MI on Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15 to meet with faculty and staff to discuss their research, tour campus and find out about campus resources, and learn about the vibrant Marquette community. The deadline to register is September 1.

NMU McNair Program staff will use the information you provide on the registration form to set up appointments with a faculty member in your area of interest. Every effort will be made to also give your the opportunity to visit lab space and sit in on a class. 

***Travel is not covered by NMU or NMU McNair Program***

1. Participants get three meals covered on Friday, September 15

2. NMU provides a voucher for 50% off your hotel stay at one of the approved lodging providers: see the list here

3. For students who drive to Marquette, a visitor parking pass will be issued.

4. The NMU McNair Program will arrange meetings with faculty and departments.

A block of 10 rooms is being held at the Ramada Inn in Downtown Marquette. Contact the hotel directly and mention the McNair Scholars Visitation Program for a 50% off room discount upon arrival. Check in will be available off the lobby at the Ramada where students can pick up their packets. Students who choose not to stay at the Ramada can pick up their packets starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewing Company (view map.)
