NMU Offers GetFit Program

The Northern Michigan University School of Health and Human Performance is accepting new campus and community members for the 2018 GetFit Program starting Monday, Sept. 17.

The GetFit program is a scientifically based physical fitness program designed to promote active lifestyles . and strengthen and improve muscle and joint mobility. The program is tailored to each participant’s medical history, heart rate, blood pressure, body composition and goals. Then, participants implement exercises and activities geared towards their individual needs and interests.

Classes run Sept. 17-Dec. 6. Session days and times to choose from are as follows:

Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 6:30-7:30 a.m.
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 9-10 a.m.
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 5-6 p.m.

The GetFit Program is conducted in the Exercise Science Lab in the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF) at NMU. The fee for new participants is $150 for a full semester or $100 mid-semester (new NMU-affiliated participants receive a $10 discount). For returning participants, the fee is $100 for a full semester; $50 mid-semester.
