Jones Receives NMU Scholarship

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Kaitlyn Jones of New Boston is the recipient of The Upper Peninsula Environment Coalition Scholarship at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 school year.

To be eligible for the scholarship students must show an appreciation and have been dedicated to spreading awareness of the natural resources of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Priority was given to students who sought a type of work in the protection and preservation of the Upper Peninsula environment.

The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition Scholarship was established in 2001, by Chris Fries, an NMU employee and board member of the Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition (UPEC).
