COFFEE HOUSE PERFORMANCES MAY 21

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The next concert in the Beaumier Coffee House Series at Northern Michigan University will feature local musicians Goldmine Girls and Papa Crow at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21 in the University Center’s Peter White Lounge.

            The Goldmine Girls play a variety of cover songs, as well as original folk, country, rock and blues. They use a variety of instruments that include mandolin and mountain dulcimer. The duo has appeared at the Hiawatha Music Festival, the Peter White Library and Michigan State University.

            Papa Crow is a singer/songwriter focusing on family music. Accompanied by guitar or ukulele, he draws on American traditional folk and rock, as well as children’s music and nursery rhymes.

            Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Coffee, lemonade and snacks will be provided. This series is sponsored by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center.
