MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University chapter of Invisible Children is holding a book drive through Friday, Jan. 22. Donation boxes are located in front of the NMU Bookstore, in the Payne/Halverson Lobby and in the gathering area at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette.

Motivated by the unseen war in northern Uganda, Invisible Children was created by three young filmmakers with a single mission: to use the power of stories to change lives around the world. The organization has challenged high schools and colleges to collect textbooks, novels and children’s books. The top three schools will each choose a representative to go on an all-expense paid trip to Uganda to see how Invisible Children efforts have made a difference.

The NMU drive is being coordinated through Better World Books. For more information, contact chapter president John Barkowski at 708-341-2704 or secretary Sarah Morrison at 906-869-3129.
