Novelist and short-story author Cristina Henriquez will give a reading at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Women’s Federated Clubhouse in Marquette.   The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Henriquez, who resides in Chicago, is the author of such works as Come Together, Fall Apart, a collection of eight short stories and novella. A graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, her stories have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Plougshares and elsewhere. She also was featured in the Virginia Quarterly Review as one of “Fiction’s New Luminaries.” Her first book, The World in Half, will be published next year by Riverhead Books.
