Members of both the Elementary Education Mathematics Club and the Mathematics Club woke up early on Make a Difference Day and headed to Sandy Knoll Elementary School as well as a community member's home to rake leaves for the day.
Sandy Knoll was definitely a challenge! After almost four hours of raking, the team of club members, elementary students, and parents had filled a trailer five times!
After the last trailer load, the clubs headed to the next location. This was the home of a World War II veteran and his wife. They (the clubs) were so happy to be able to help the family of someone who had served our country, especially one as caring and welcoming as this family.
Make a Difference Day was truly a wonderful way for our club to give back to the community of Marquette.
