If you are injured or ill, visit the Vielmetti Health Center is on the ground floor of Gries Hall. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 227-2355. Check out their website to see what services are offered. Care is provided by highly qualified, board certified physicians specializing in internal medicine and family practice.
The Physical Education Instructional Facility, more commonly called the PEIF (Pronounced "peef"), opened in 1976. The facility houses a pool, which is home to the NMU swimming and diving team, and Vandament Arena, where the Wildcat volleyball team plays. The PEIF has a two-level recreation center, complete with a large climbing wall, weight room, cardiovascular area, two basketball courts, two lounge areas, a spinning room, and an area to rent sports equipment. There are seven racquetball courts, a dance studio, athletic training facilities, locker rooms, and classrooms, as well as an auxiliary gymnasium that the Wildcat men’s and women’s basketball teams use for practice. The PEIF is home to the Wildcat Athletic Department’s offices for all coaches and staff members other than hockey. For more information, please call 227-2519.
