Call Forwarding

Calls will ring to an extension of your choice

  • Pick up the handset
  • Dial *2
  • Dial the 4 digit extension
  • Hear confirmation tone (3 beeps)

To cancel:

  • Pick up the handset
  • Dial #2
  • Hear confirmation tone (3 beeps)

Call Pickup

Answer a call placed to a member of your call pickup group.

  • Pick up the handset
  • Press the Call Pickup button or dial #4

Conference

To add a party to your call (up to 6 including you)

  • Press Conference (R, Tab, or press and release the switch hook)
  • Dial the number you want to conference
  • Press Conference (R, Tab, or press and release the switch hook)

Hold

If you have a hold button:

  • Press Hold

If you don't have a hold button:

  • Press the switch hook
  • Dial *6

Transfer

  • Press Transfer (R, Tab, or press and release the switch hook)
  • Dial the 4 digit extension
  • Press Transfer (R, Tab, or press and release the switch hook)
  • Hang up

NMU Voice Mail Setup

  • Log in to https://voicemail.nmu.edu *Note that if you are off campus you must first login to the VPN*
  • Enter your NMU login and password (your email login/password)
  • Click settings
  • Enter a password to use from your telephone
  • Click update
  • Dial (906)227-1122
  • Enter your extension number and #
  • Enter your telephone password and #
  • Press 0 (zero)
  • Press 1 to record your unavailable greeting
  • Press 3 to record your name
  • You are done.

Advanced settings for NMU voice mail

  • Go to https://voicemail.nmu.edu
  • Log in and go to settings
    If you want to send voice messages to your email, enter your email address or addresses separated by semicolons. You can also choose to delete your voicemail messages as they are emailed. This way, you never need to log into the web page or use the phone to get voicemail messages, they simply come in as email.Ex:email1@nmu.edu;email2@hotmail.com
  • Click the update button when you’re done.
    • Once you have set up your account, you can access your messages via the web at https://voicemail.nmu.edu or via telephone at (906)227-1122
  • Press 1 To - Check New Messages
  • Press 4 To - Play Previous Message
  • Press 5 To - Repeat Message
  • Press 6 To - Play Next Message
  • Press 7 To - Delete / Un-Delete Message
  • Press 8 To - Forward Message To Other User
  • Press 9 To - Save Message
