The Housing and Residence Life Office provides housing in Spooner Hall and the Woodland Park apartments for students during May, June, July, and part of August. Typically students are housed between May 20 and August 10. Housing options in Spooner Hall include furnished single rooms and furnished three-room (living area, bedroom, private bathroom) efficiency apartments. Options in Woodland Park include efficiency apartments, one-bedroom units, two-bedroom units, and four-bedroom units.
Move In/Move Out Dates
Because of the need to clean Spooner Hall and Woodland Park units after the 2019 winter semester, students who wish to live in Spooner or Woodland for some or all of the summer while they take classes are not permitted to move in before May 11, 2019. Similarly, because of the need to prepare Spooner Hall and Woodland for the 2018 fall semester, summer residents must move out prior to August 11, 2019.
If you are staying for more than 15 consecutive nights, you will qualify for a reduced monthly rate, indicated below. A prorated monthly rate will apply to the months of May and August and for those students staying more than 16 days, but less than 31. Students who plan to stay for fewer than 15 days should contact Housing and Residence Life for more information regarding daily rates.

Applications and Finalizing Your Reservation
A Summer College 2019 Student Housing Application form may be obtained in the Housing and Residence Life Office (3502 Hedgcock) or by emailing email@example.com (please include "Summer Housing" in the subject line). You can also download one from the applications page by clicking here.
To reserve summer college housing, return your completed application with the full amount due for your first preference, plus any charges for a meal plan, to the Student Service Center - Summer College Housing, Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Ave, Marquette, MI 49855. Please make your check payable to Northern Michigan University and include your name and NMU IN on the check. You can pay your monthly rent through e-bill by setting up a payment plan with the Student Service Center. Click here for their contact information.
Canceling Your Reservation
If your plans change and you will not be living on campus as indicated on the application, you must notify the Housing and Residence Life Office in writing (send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org) at least five working days before you are scheduled to move in to avoid a $50 cancelation fee.
