Straight laced housewife Maude Mix is not prepared for her new Texan, eccentric neighbor Hannah Mae Bindler. Hannah Mae badgers Maude into friendship and the two eventually join forces against their errant and erring husbands.

Jesse_Head_shots_for_White_Chicks_1_tlarge.JPGJesse Morrow (Hannah Mae) This performance is Jesse Morrow’s senior capstone as a theater performance major. She has been seen in the NMU productions 1776, Fallujah, A Kind of Alaska, Les Miserables, The Comedy of Errors, She Kills Monsters and Chicago. “I’m excited to be finishing my college career with such a vibrant, complex, and challenging role. Thank you to everyone who I’ve worked with while studying in Marquette. You’ve helped me grow as a performer and a person.”

 

Monica Nordeen (Maude) moved to Marquette County in July 2008, after 10 years in the New York City area. Local roles: Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, and Ariel in The Tempest at NMU; lead roles in Lake Superior Theatre’s productions of A Thousand Clowns, Twelfth Night, The Love List, and Lake Stories. In NYC, Monica performed leads in Hamlet, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Laundry & Bourbon, Robin Hood, School for Scandal, Arsenic & Old Lace, and several original plays. Her B.A. in theatre and mathematics is from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

Ansley Valentine (Director, Costume Designer, Properties Master ) is director of theatre at Northern Michigan University. A seasoned actor, director and choreographer, recent productions include Hello, Dolly!; Annie Get Your Gun; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; The King and I; Sound of Music; and Mrs. Warren’s Profession. His resume boasts professional and academic theatres across the country (including productions with the Indianapolis, Detroit and Alabama Symphonies). He holds a master of fine arts from Indiana University and a bachelor of arts from Wabash College.

Victor G. Holliday (Scenic Director) has been the designer for The Forest Roberts Theatre since 1982, and also served as technical director from 1982-2000. He earned his bachelor of arts in psychology from St. Johns University (Minnesota), and his master of fine arts in scenic design from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Before coming to NMU, he was designer and technical director at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). Vic has also designed for summer and community theatres and dance companies in Hawaii, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Outside of the theater, his major interests are history (particularly military and naval history) and ship modeling (pre-dreadnought steel navy), and he is an active ailurophile.

Dan Zini (Light Designeris a media production major. At the FRT, Dan has worked on Legally Blonde (sound design) and Fallujah. Some of his favorite past projects include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Bay College, sound design), Chicago (Bay College, asst. technical director/sound design), The Drowsy Chaperone (William Bonifas Fine Arts Center, sound design) and Pirates of Penzance (Lake Superior Theatre, sound design).

David Pierce (Technical Director) David came to NMU from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky where he had been Technical Director for the Department of Theatre and Dance. Other TD credits include Adirondack Theatre Festival, Little Theatre on the Square, and Four Seasons Theatre Company.  David holds a BS in construction management from Ferris State University and an MFA in theatre technology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In his spare time, he loves to be outdoors. He enjoys hiking, boating, fishing, biking, and bonfires.  He’s also a boisterous Tigers fan!

Abby Schneck (Production Stage Manager) is a senior at Northern Michigan University studying theater and English focusing on stage management and lighting. She is very excited to be stage managing this show. Some acting appearances include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, She Kills Monsters, and Jack and the Beanstalk at the Forest Roberts Theatre and Pippin at Lake Superior Theatre. Backstage she has worked on 1776, Les Miserables, Comedy of Errors, and I Do! I Do!. With all of the support she has gotten, she would like to thank the rest of the production team, and her friends and family for their unconditional love.

Abigail Persoon (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman from Mahtomedi, Minnesota studying zoology, theater, and dance. Before arriving in Marquette, Abigail worked with Ashland Productions in Maplewood, Minnesota as well as several productions with Missoula Children's Theatre. This is Abigail's first time working on a crew for an NMU production, and she is very excited! She would like to thank the cast and crew of White Chicks, and hopes that you break all the legs!

Nathan Morgan (Assistant Stage Manager) is currently a sophomore biology major at NMU with aspirations of one day attending medical school. Nathan is from West Branch, Michigan where he was highly involved with theatre at Ogemaw Heights High School. At NMU Nathan has appeared as Angelo in A Comedy of Errors. He has also been involved on the technical side of several NMU productions and is excited to be assistant stage managing for A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking.
