Victor G. Holliday, Professor – is an Associate Professor of Communication and Performance Studies. Born in Detroit and raised in the UP, he received his B.A. from St. John’s University (Minn.) and his M.F.A. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After teaching and working in New Jersey, he returned home to Marquette and NMU. He has been the Designer for the Forest Roberts Theatre since 1982, and also served as Technical Director from 1982 until 2001. Vic’s areas of expertise include scenic and lighting design, stage makeup, and theatre history. During his time at Northern, Vic has completed over 100 scenic designs and 80 lighting designs for the Forest Roberts Theatre. He has also created scenic and lighting designs for many local performance groups, as well as for summer theatres in Hawaii, Wisconsin and North Carolina. His other interests include Japanese theatre forms, theatre architecture, military history and counterfactual history. In addition, he is the Forest Roberts Theatre's resident ailurophile.
