College Cost Transparency
Northern Michigan University is committed to using the Principles & Standards of the College Cost Transparency Initiative in its student financial aid offer.
New Students
New freshmen and transfer students are notified regarding the outcome of their financial aid application starting mid-December. All offers from the Financial Aid Office will be mailed to new students until they arrive on campus. Once a new student attends new student orientation and enrolls, they are able to access the MyNMU system and all further correspondence from the Financial Aid Office will come through their NMU e-mail account.
Continuing Students
Continuing students will be awarded next year's financial aid package after completion of the winter semester. Correspondence to continuing students from the Financial Aid Office will come through their NMU e-mail account. Students should check their NMU e-mail account regularly. They can also view their financial aid information by checking their MyNMU.
