About the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship

The mission of the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship at Northern Michigan University includes educating K-12 educators, students and parents of students about the economic way of thinking and instilling in them an appreciation for this rational, life-long way of thinking and its applications.

The center seeks to accomplish this mission by providing a variety of services, programs and resources. K-12 educator training programs, professional development workshops, graduate courses, outcomes assessment, standards-based educational materials and peer-reviewed products help the NMU-CEEE advance economic literacy across the region of the Upper Peninsula and the state of Michigan.

NMU-CEEE is a part of the Michigan Council on Economic Education which is, in turn, a member of the National Council on Economic Education. Hugo Eyzaguirre, a faculty member of the Economics Department, serves as the director.
