Saving Your Resume As A PDF File
To make full use of the Online Resume System at NMU, you'll have to create your resume and then save it as a PDF file. The system will not accept Word resumes and if you do load a Word document (.doc file extension), it will be deleted and your user account in the Online Resume System will be discontinued.
If you are using an NMU-issued notebook computer, you can do this through the File --> Save As function. If you are using a word processing program other than MS Word, check with your software manufacturer to determine how to convert your resume to a PDF document.
To begin, open your completed resume and click on the Office Button (orange button in the top left of your screen with the Microsoft logo) and choose "Save As from the drop-down menu
Then, create a file name in the "File Name" box and make sure to choose PDF in the Save As Type dialog box.
It's best to save your resume onto your computer's desktop so it will be easy to find when you're ready to upload it into the Online Resume System.
