Northern Michigan University’s pep band, under the direction of Stephen Grugin (Music), was named best musical group at the Ishpeming 4th of July parade. The band was part of an NMU delegation of employees, alumni, students and Wildcat athletes who joined President Fritz Erickson and his wife, Jan, in marching in the Ishpeming and Marquette parades.

Ansley Valentine (Communication and Performance Studies) created a video for the Sigma Chi International Fraternity that earned a bronze award in the 35th annual Telly Awards’ charitable/not-for-profit category.
