Course Description
FR 310 Introduction to French Civilization and Culture 4 cr.
- Offered: Every other winter
- Applies toward the perspectives on society (pers) general education requirement.
- Prerequisite: EN 211 with a grade of "C" or better or HON 102 and HON 112 and sophomore standing.
An overview of early European history; a comprehensive view of France's geography and 2,000 years of social customs and how they are reflected in the arts, music, architecture and literature. The course includes aspects of the interaction between France and the United States.
Note: FR 310 is taught in English. French majors and minors, who wish to receive French credit for this course, are required to complete a substantial amount of work in French, and are advised to have completed FR 300 with a "C" or better prior to taking this course.
