A.     Minutes:

 1.     That the minutes of the September 18, 2015 meeting of the Board be approved.

B.     Gifts of Property

1. Gift to the School of Art and Design (DeVos Art Museum) from Christine Flavin, Marquette, MI, Lucienne Bloch, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Silver Gelatin Print; Jerry Uelsmann, Silver Gelatin Print; Christine Flavin, The History of Photography: Lacock Studio Inkjet Print; Paul Grant, Stuckey, Watercolor, 33” x 25”.  ($6,300 value)

2. Gift to the School of Art and Design (DeVos Art Museum) from Daric Christian, Marquette, MI, John Carr, Champers, 1990, Multiplate Etching with Engraving; Michael Northrup, JDS Woodstove, Digital Composition.  ($1,250 value)

3. Gift to Technology and Occupational Sciences (Climate Control Technology training) from Paula’s Café, Indian River, MI, Stainless Steel 3-Door Freezer.  ($1,200 value)

4. Gift to the School of Art and Design from Holly Aldrich, Marquette, MI, Various books (e.g., sculpture, jewelry, woodworking, etc.); 50-pound Brass Copper Stock; Historical slides.  ($500 value)

C.     Personnel Actions: 

Appointments:

1. Winn, Robert, J., Interim Assistant Provost – Graduate Education and Research, a term appointment, effective January 1, 2016.  (Transfer)

Emeritus:

1. Dr. Don Faust be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, effective January 1, 2016.

2. Dr. George Gross be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Sociology, effective January 1, 2016.

3. Dr. Michael Loukinen be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Sociology, effective January 1, 2016.

4. Dr. Linda Riipi be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Clinical Sciences, effective January 1, 2016.

5. Dr. Terry Seethoff be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, effective January 1, 2016.

6. Dr. Irvin Zaenglein be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Business, effective January 1, 2016.

D. Degrees

1. That Colonel Danny Pummill, MNSS, MMAS, ’83, receive an Honorary Degree, Doctorate of Public Service, at the December 2015 Commencement Ceremony.  Colonel Pummill will also be the Commencement Speaker.

2. The August 2015 final list of graduates and the December 2015 preliminary list of graduates be approved.  A copy of the list is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

E.     Property and Finance:

1. The resolution of the Board of Trustees of Northern Michigan University authorizing the one-day event liquor licenses as follows:

April 15, 2016	Hospitality Management’s Main Event	Jacobetti Commons	6:00 p.m.
May 26, 2016	UP Hospice Foundation’s Dancing with the Stars	Hedgcock	5:00 p.m.

2. The 2015-2016 Revised General Fund Operating Budget be approved.  A copy of the budget is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

3. The Financial Report for Northern Michigan University for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2015, and all related transactions, be approved.  The audit of these statements was conducted by Rehmann Robson, Certified Public Accountants.  The statements were reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.  A copy of the Financial Report is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

E.     Special Items:

1. The Academic Calendars for 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020 be approved as attached.

2. That the following individuals be appointed as board members for the following public school academies:
