Ad Hoc Recruitment and Retention Committee

Members Present:  Mr. Gil Ziegler, Chair, Mr. Bill Bernard, Dr. L. Garnet Lewis, Ms. Cindy Paavola, Dr. Douglas Roberts

The Recruitment and Retention Committee was called to order at 8:30 a.m.

Update on Enrolment

Mr. Bernard provided an update on fall 2009 enrollment.  Discussion ensued on the impact of demographics, economy, and the role transfer students will play on future enrollments.

Articulation Agreements

The role of Articulation Agreements with community colleges was discussed, including an update on the number of NMU agreements.  Mr. Bernard provided a review of the process for developing Articulation Agreements and discussed the current MACRAO Agreement.  

Four-Year Graduation

Discussion was held on the marketing plans to inform NMU students and their parents on the cost of a baccalaureate degree and the impact graduating in four years or less would have on a student’s overall cost of degree.
