This documentary presents a history of Northern Michigan University’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. Founded in 1948, the LPN program pioneered nursing education at NMU and in the Upper Peninsula. The video was shown at the School of Nursing’s pinning ceremony on Friday, April 29, 2011.

Archives student assistants produced the documentary using photographs and historical records from the Archives’ collections.  Megan Warnos (’11) created the video presentation using Adobe After Effects; Christopher Kern (’12)  conducted research and wrote the narrative; and Maggie Newberry (’11) provided the narration.
