Nichole Veirs - Assistant Director of Admissions, Southwestern Michigan and Indiana
Hometown: Arlington, Texas
Professional/personal biography: I earned a bachelor of science degree with a major in history with a minor in political science from NMU in 2006. I was very active while I attended NMU and was involved in housing and residence life and the Campus Visit Program.
Most memorable college experience: My most memorable college experience while I was a student at NMU was when I was lucky enough to be a Resident Adviser. I loved planning events for my residents, helping and watching my residents grow, and how I fell in love with working for NMU.
Favorite Marquette activity: My favorite activity in Marquette is hanging out at the beach and reading a good book during the summer and in the winter attending the UP 200 Dog Sled Race. My favorite NMU activity is going to the hockey games. Go Cats!
Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: The best advice I received when I went off to college was to make the most of it and to step out of my comfort zone. By doing both of those things, college flew by and I have so many great memories and friends. Good luck and don’t forget to have fun.
