  • Take 94 North toward the Wisconsin border
  • Follow 94/41 through downtown Milwaukee
  • Follow signs for 43 to Green Bay
  • North of Green Bay take exit 192A (41/141 North to Marinette/Iron Mountain)
  • Stay to the right and follow 41 to Oconto/Marinette
  • Just past the downtown Marinette area, there will be signs directing you to turn left. If you miss this turn, you will soon find yourself at the lakeshore. In this case, backtrack to follow 41
  • Five minutes after your left turn, you will see a large Shell Gas station on the right
  • Just past this station is a right fork for M-35 to Escanaba
  • Take this turn to get onto M-35
  • Continue on I-35 to Escanaba where I-35 will join with US-41/US-2 and will take you through Escanaba, past the Mead Paper Plant to Gladstone
  • Approximately 10 miles after Gladstone, US-41 will turn north towards Marquette
  • Turn left and follow US-41 (approximately 50 miles)  to Marquette

From the Minneapolis area:

  • Follow 35W North to Duluth, MN (about 150 miles)
  • Take I-535 S to US-53S to Superior, WI
  • Follow US-2 to Wakefield, MI (about 100 miles)
  • Turn left onto M-28 in Wakefield
  • M-28 merges to US-41 leading to Marquette (about 135 miles)

From the lower peninsula of Michigan:

  • Take I-75 north to exit 344B to merge onto I-75-BL/US-2 W toward Escanaba/Manistique
  • Continue to follow US-2 to M-117/Country Ave. (about 65 mi.)
  • Turn right onto M-117 to M-28 (about 17 mi.)
  • Go left on M-28
  • Continue onto BUS US-41/Front Street in Marquette

Once in Marquette:

If you are entering Marquette from the WEST on US Hwy 41:

  • At the first traffic circle (roundabout) as you enter Marquette, continue straight to stay on US Hwy 41
  • At the next traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto County Rd HQ (go past Target) 
  • County Road HQ turns into Wright Street. Follow that for 2.5 miles.
  • At the traffic circle, continue straight
  • At the next traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto Tracy Avenue, and you will be on NMU's Campus.
  • If you are visiting NMU as part of the Campus Visit Program-
    • Follow Tracy Avenue to 7th street, and turn right.
    • Take another quick right into into Parking Lot 62 (the first lot to your right, located just after the four-way stop sign).
    •     As you are pulling in to Lot 62, CB Hedgcock will be on your right. The Admissions Office is located in Room 2212.
          (If Lot 62 is full, you can park in Lot 6, 7 or 21.) 
  • If you are visiting NMU as part of Wildcat Weekend-
    • Follow Tracy Avenue to 7th street
    • At the 4-way stop, go straight onto Lee Drive
    • Continue down Lee Drive and turn right into Lot 8 for the Northern Center or left for Lot 13.
      • You may also continue down Lee Drive, take a right at the four-way stop on Kaye Avenue, and park behind the Northern Center in Lot 1.
  • If you are visiting campus through any of our other programs, please refer to the check-in directions provided from that program.

If you are entering Marquette from the EAST or SOUTH on US Hwy 41/Michigan Hwy 28:

  • At the first traffic circle (roundabout), take the 2nd exit to continue on US Hwy 41.
  • At the next traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto S. 7th Street
  • Follow 7th street for 1.3 miles, and you will be on NMU's campus.
  • If you are visiting NMU as part of the Campus Visit Program-
    • Turn left into Parking Lot 62 (the first lot to your left when you get on campus, located just before the four-way stop sign).
    • As you are pulling in to Lot 62, CB Hedgcock will be on your right. The Admissions Office is located in Room 2212. (If Lot 62 is full, you can park in Lot 6, 7, or 21.) 
  • If you are visiting NMU as part of Wildcat Weekend-
    • Turn right at the four-way stop sign on Lee Drive
    • Continue down Lee Drive and turn right into Lot 8 for the Northern Center or left for Lot 13
      • You may also continue down Lee Drive, take a right at the four-way stop on Kaye Avenue, and park behind the Northern Center in Lot 1.
