Greg Warchol and Dale Kapla (Criminal Justice) have had their paper titled" "Policing the Wilderness: A descriptive study of wildlife conservation officers in South Africa" published in the International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice. The paper is based on field research work done by Warchol and Kapla in South Africa over a two-year period. The professors examined the recruitment, selection, training and operations of field rangers working in the public and private game reserves in that country. Interviews and observation were done at a variety of national, provincial and private game reserves and ranger training academies. The results indicated distinct differences between the public and private sector rangers, with the latter being more innovative and flexible in their approach to wildlife conservation.

Shirley Brozzo’s (Multicultural Education and Resource Center) essay, “Windigo Cars and High-Stakes Gambling in the Novels of Louise Erdrich,” appears as Chapter 3 in  American Indians and Popular Culture: Volume 2 Literature, Arts and Resistance, edited by Elizabeth DeLaney Hoffman.
