Presentations

Gerri Daniels (Admissions) was part of a panel presentation at the College Board Midwestern Regional Forum Feb. 13-14 in Chicago. The panel was titled "Education and the Media: Working Together, at Cross Purposes." The description reads, "Ultimately, people who work in education and those in the media are pursuing the same thing: truth. Yet the two groups frequently misunderstand each other. This session will include perspectives from presenters in both professions, as well as staff who straddle the divide, working inside higher education with members of the media. Topics covered will include how to respond when a reporter calls, what makes a good story and how can both sides work to make each other happier with the result?"

Mitchell Klett and Judy Puncochar (Education) co-authored two papers that were presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Ithaca, N.Y. NMU students Amanda Sterzick, Niki Stuckmann, Brianna Jones and Maria Affhalter are also listed as co-authors. The titles are "Tribal School Success with a Schoolwide K-12 Writing Assessment Program" and "Achievement in Science Inquiry Labs and Role Preference in Cooperative Learning Groups in Same-gender and Co-ed Middle School Classrooms."
