'Planet Chat' April 5

The next "Planet Chat" session at NMU will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, in the Commons Area of Whitman Hall. Three students and a member of the community will share their experiences of traveling overseas.

The session will also provide information about other cultures, travel, internships and study abroad opportunities. A free lunch will be served.

“We began these Planet Chats to dispel people’s fears of traveling abroad,” said Nell Kupper (Modern Languages and Literatures). “People often have fears of being in a country with a completely different culture where they don’t speak the language fluently. Planet Chats provide a forum where students and faculty can listen to other people’s personal stories about these experiences, and hopefully they’ll walk away being less afraid of the concept of traveling to a foreign country.”

For more information, contact Kupper at ext. 2648.
