How to Apply

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • students at the beachMeet federal low-income guidelines or come from a family where neither parent or guardian holds a four-year college degree
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Be at least 13 years of age and not older than 19
  • Be currently enrolled in 9th or 10th grade
  • Have a strong interest in mathematics and science
  • Have a grade point average of at least 2.50, based on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrate interest in post-secondary education
  • Exhibit responsible and cooperative behaviors
  • Have acceptable high school attendance records
  • Be motivated to follow and complete a rigorous academic program for six weeks in the summer

Admission Procedures

  1. Upon receipt of completed documents student applications are reviewed for admission.
  2. Admission reviews are conducted during the month of April.
  3. Eligible students not chosen for admission will be placed on a wait list.
  4. Admission, rejection, and wait list notifications are sent out on an on going basis until the end of May.

Obtaining an Application

Applications have been sent out to returning students. New students can pick up applications in the counseling office at each target school or download the application.
