Specialty Tutoring Labs

students in classWhether you’re having a problem speaking Linux or Spanish, solving an algebraic equation or equating Yeats to Keats, tutoring tailored to your computer science, language, math or writing classes is available. These specialty labs offer peer tutoring from upper division students.

Tutors can help with establishing solid basic skills, completing specific assignments and learning general concepts. They are a good sounding board for discussing ideas, organizing thoughts and reviewing and critiquing work.

In addition to person-to-person tutoring, online tutoring may be available as well as helpful information on this Web site, the department’s or center’s Web site, or in computer programs, videos or learning aids at the labs.

The specialty tutoring labs are free and open during certain times. Most are available on a walk-in basis during those open hours, but some may require appointments or appointments during busy times.

Students who need more help than can be provided in a specialty lab may be able to arrange to pay an upper division student for additional tutorial help.
