Instructor Jerry Bugni began teaching within NMU’s Automotive Department during the Fall 2010 semester. Jerry has been a licensed master automotive technician since 1993, including Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and State of Michigan master certification. Currently, Jerry is ASE certified in thirteen different areas. In 1994, Jerry graduated from Ferris State University with an AAS degree in Automotive Service Technology. After completing his student teaching requirement at Westwood High School, Jerry received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University, majoring in Secondary Industrial Technology Education and with a Secondary Mathematics Education minor. During the summer of 2011, Jerry received his State of Michigan teaching certificate and an automotive vocational endorsement.
During his automotive career, Jerry has worked for Ford and Chevrolet dealerships fulfilling a variety of roles, along with working as a technician for independent repair facilities. Jerry has also owned and operated his own independent repair facility for seven years.
