Pampering Big Brothers Big Sisters

On October 4, the cosmetology salon opened its doors to offer free manicures and braids to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette and Alger counties, as part of an effort to help the kids in the program "get to know the neighborhood," and, of course, to have fun.

"At the cosmetology salon, we're about bringing people happiness," stated Instructor Jeanne Graves.

All members of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program were smiling and laughing as they looked through catalogues in the waiting area, choosing colors and art for their fingernails. As four manicure tables were set up, Graves led a brief tour of the facility, talking about the cosmetology program and answering questions.

October 2010 is customer appreciation month at the cosmetology salon. All chemical services, such as perms and hair dyeing, are $10 off. In addition, the 20th customer every day in October will receive a free Redken product.  "The economy is tough right now," said Graves. "We want to help everyone find a happy perspective."
