Denise Hudson

Instructor of Cosmetology

Instructor Denise Hudson is beginning her first year as full-time faculty in the Cosmetology program this fall (2013). Denise joined the Northern Michigan University Cosmetology program in 2009 as a Paraprofessional and Adjunct. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University and a Cosmetology Instructor License.

Prior to coming to NMU, Denise was as a certified Cosmetology State Board examiner and Test Site Administrator for fourteen years. Denise has worked in the cosmetology industry since 1985.

As an Adjunct Instructor, Denise serves as student adviser for the “Mane Tamers”, a student organization that provides services to the community. Denise has taught the Marquette Alger RESA high school program and tutors cosmetology students through Academic Affairs.

Instructor Hudson enjoys combining her practical knowledge and skills with program planning and development. She is excited to continue her years of professional experience to use in the classroom.

Denise currently serves on the Powell Township Government Board as a Trustee Official as well as a Board Liaison and Planning Commission Member.
