The Forest Roberts theatre cordially invites you to become an annual member of the First Nighters Club. Your membership helps to maintain the artistic quality and various activities in which we are engaged. The primary beneficiaries are the young men and woman - budding theatre artists - in the areas of acting, directing, designing, costuming and management. Your support encourages and supports the total theatre program and benefits the community as well as the university.
 

Your Contribution

Whatever the amount - is needed and appreciated by all Forest Roberts theatre student-artists today and tomorrow. The dollars you designate to the First Nighters Club are used for:

• Artistic Internships for talented and gifted graduate students
• Audition Fees
• Academic Scholarships
• Recruitment
• Field studies scholarships
• Improvements in the physical plant
• Guest Artists
• Outreach programs for UP and secondary and elementary schools
• Special programs

Sneak Preview Luncheons
All members will receive invitations for Sneak Preview Luncheons of upcoming productions. Meet the cast and crew, learn about the play from the director and the designer, and sample a sneak preview of the show itself.
Cabaret
Our Cabaret is our annual fundraiser for the theatre students put on by the theatre students.  An elegant dinner is served followed by exciting musical entertainment, usually featuring the songs of such composers as George Gershwin and Jerry Herman. An auction of Broadway memorabilia, along with raffle prizes and a silent auction is mixed throughout the night.  The money raised is used to help support the graduate internship program, along with providing students with Field Studies Scholarships and financial support to state, regional and national auditions.  This promises to be the social event of the year, so don't be left out.
Backstage Tours
First Nighters only have the chance to take a guided tour of the Forest Roberts theatre. Visit the costume shop, the scene shop, and see our computerized lighting board in action. Check out the totally renovated dressing rooms and learn about backstage magic at FRT.
Special Events
As a First Nighter, you'll be the first to know about such treats as guest artists, workshops, seminars, receptions and other special activities.
