2013 NMU graduate and SSS participant Mitch Steinmetz is putting his Human Centered Design education and skills to use in a in a futuristic manner. He is currently working at General Motors as part of the Vehicle Assembly Structure team. In his role as a designer in the Virtual Reality Center, Mitch produces what is referred to as "real-time" images. These computer-generated images are very close to real imagery. This enables General Motors engineers to visually and virtually understand different phases and designs for future vehicles. These different phases and designs range from developing small components or parts within a vehicle to virtually constructing the entire vehicle from the front end to the back. Mitch is also responsible for the creation of images used "occasionally" on General Motors websites, as well as images used within the Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC Tower).
